Deemed the “best deli in Mississippi” by Mississippi magazine, The Deli Diner in Collins is loved for their sandwiches, burgers, and Mexican food. The standout sandwich on the menu: the Grilled Shrimp Po’ boy, made with spicy grilled shrimp, lettuce, onion, and mayo. If you’re in the mood for a burger, go for the Gorillin’, a pimento bacon cheeseburger on a cheddar jalapeño bun.

M&M Bakery and Deli in Kansas City was opened by a Holocaust survivor and her husband, then sold in the 1980s to a former employee, who has maintained the heart and soul of the eatery. The Reubens and smoked turkey sandwiches are just as beloved as the apple fritters, bear claws, and donuts, but the hands-down all-time customer favorite is the Hook ‘Em Up Sandwich, made with pepper beef, turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mustard, Miracle Whip, hot cheese, and American cheese on an onion bun.

It sure is hard to choose between Tagliare’s New Edition (made with roast beef, Swiss cheese, grilled portobello mushrooms, spinach, and horseradish red pepper aioli) or Double Brother (turkey, fresh walnut pesto, smoked mozzarella, and piquillo peppers). Either way, you’ll find sandwich Nirvana, which, coincidentally, is also on the menu (made with roast beef, turkey, tomato, onion, greens, and pancetta-gorgonzola cream cheese). Pair your sandwich with antipasti like marinated olives or stuffed peppers at this Missoula favorite.
