As a shopping expert, I would be remiss if I didn’t credit the OG shopping expert for teaching me everything I know. You know who I’m talking about: the queen of product recommendations whose annual list of favorite things serves as the ultimate gift guide. Yep. None other than Ms. Oprah Winfrey. So when Cozy Earth’s bamboo sheet set made Lady O’s list back in 2018, I immediately ordered a set. And oh. My. Word.
Let me just say that Cozy Earth is an experience—and one that my fellow Reader’s Digest editors and I delight in. That’s why we decided to compare notes on our own Cozy Earth reviews. Between the lot of us, we’ve tested dozens of Cozy Earth products and found that the brand is consistent with quality, comfort and value. Here’s everything you need to know before treating yourself to some of our (and Oprah’s!) favorite things.
Luxury awaits with Cozy Earth's wide selection of pajamas, bedding and home goods.
Cozy Earth is a direct-to-consumer brand that has been providing high-quality, sustainably made items since 2011. In addition to cozy bedding, you’ll find accessories like scrunchies, hats and scarves, bath towels, clothing and home goods. They’ve even developed a luxurious skincare line.
To date, our team here at Reader’s Digest has tested dozens of Cozy Earth products in almost every category. We’ve evaluated each product on its packaging, quality and longevity. Just bear in mind that Cozy Earth offers luxury goods, which means luxury prices. However, we assure you that each and every item discussed in our Cozy Earth reviews is worth your hard-earned money.
Consider yourself warned. Once you treat yourself to Cozy Earth bedding, you’ll never want to sleep on anything else. Our tester, Caitlyn Fitzpatrick, and her husband were thrilled with the brand’s bamboo bed sheets, which they found to be comfy and cooling. “You know that incredible feeling when you’ve just showered and slide into a bed with freshly washed sheets? Amplify that with the cooling properties and it’s pretty unreal,” she says in her best cooling bed sheets review.
In addition to their positively perfect bed sheets, Cozy Earth carries a selection of blankets and comforters. The Cozy Earth comforter comes with a silk, bamboo or down alternative filling. Senior shopping editor Daria Smith cozies up with the silk standard fill in the winter and swaps it out with the bamboo standard fill in the warmer months. “Both the silk and bamboo comforters are breathable, moisture-wicking, temperature-regulating (regardless of the season) and oh-so-soft. It feels like you’re enveloped in a cloud,” she writes in her Cozy Earth comforter review. “The silk comforter is large, fluffy and luxurious, like down comforters,” Daria says. “Whereas the bamboo comforter maintains a slimmer profile, like an uber-soft, light quilt.”
That said, Daria highly recommends ordering a duvet cover to protect your comforter. Not only does washing your Cozy Earth comforter require spot cleaning or a trip to the dry cleaner, but it’s required to validate Cozy Earth’s extended warranty. Luckily, Cozy Earth duvet covers are simple to use. “Interior snap closures on the comforter hook onto anchor loops on midpoints and corners on the duvet cover. This way, the comforter won’t shift or move inside the duvet cover. Plus, the bottom of the cover features a tie or zip closure,” Daria explains.
Made of 100% viscose from bamboo, these sheets are silky soft, breathable and thermoregulating.
The Cozy Earth comforter is available with a silk, bamboo or down alternative filling, standard or extra fill and is available in three sizes.
In addition to luxurious bedding, Cozy Earth also happens to make some of the best pajamas for women. And yes, even Oprah agrees. In 2019, she added Cozy Earth’s stretch-knit long sleeve pajama set to her list of favorites. We had four different editors put these pjs to the test, evaluating their fit, style, comfort and durability in a variety of environments. Each editor selected a different color, style and size and provided their honest feedback in a dedicated Cozy Earth pajamas review.
“I never understood the appeal of fancy pajama sets,” admits senior shopping editor Megan Mowery. “But I have to admit it—Cozy Earth rocked my pajama-less world. Their incredibly soft, stretchy, silky material is plenty comfortable. But even better, they’re almost cool to the touch, which is especially appreciated since I can’t stand to feel overheated when I sleep. They’re flattering, too, with their classic design and high waistband that feels sturdy and waist-defining.”
Deputy shopping editor Reina Galhea also loves the fit. “The pants weren’t billed as high-waisted, but I found that they sat noticeably higher than my flannel pajama pants. I have a long torso, so that’s a major plus. The top fit nicely too—the material hung like a slouchy shirt, no boxy-ness to speak of,” she raves. “But the sleep test was what truly won me over. Because these pjs are breathable and light, even sleeping in full pants and long sleeves didn’t cause me to overheat.”
If a dedicated pajama set isn’t your style, then try the rib-knit boyfriend sleep dress. Senior shopping editor Caroline Lubinsky wasn’t sure about this dress at first as it reminded her of a mumu. But those feelings were quashed immediately after putting it on. “I love the fit; it’s loose enough for optimal breathability but doesn’t look like a shapeless bag. It’s cute, comfy and practical for sleep,” she writes in her review.
Cozy Earth offers customization options, allowing you to mix and match colors and pieces.
Our tester argues this sleep dress is so cute that it could double as a regular dress if you're in a pinch.
No bed would be complete without a comfy blanket. Senior shopping editor Katie Bandurski chose the Cozy Earth bamboo blanket for her bed and fell in love with its soft texture and gentle weight. “This blanket seems to ‘disappear’ into my bed—and that’s a huge compliment,” says Bandurski in our cooling blankets review. “Most nights, I don’t even notice it’s there, aside from the gentle weight it adds. It also doesn’t move around or get bunched up in the sheets. It’s an incredible addition to my bed.” The only thing to consider is the fact that this blanket takes forever to dry. According to Bandurski, it takes almost two full hours to dry completely and produces more lint than other blankets. However, she strongly believes that this blanket will last you the rest of your life, making it a smart purchase.
The bamboo blanket is light, but if you prefer something extra lightweight, then you’ll want to treat yourself to the waffle blanket. I have a hard time getting comfortable at night. One minute, I’m too hot, and the next, I’m too cold. This blanket is pure magic, allowing me to snuggle up and keep warm but never causes me to overheat. It’s so good that I ordered a second one for my oldest daughter. She’s a hot sleeper, so this blanket takes the place of her comforter in the summer and fall. When I go in to check on her, I find her tightly wrapped up in this blanket but there’s not a drop of sweat to be found when I kiss her goodnight.
And if you’re looking for something to just cuddle up with, then look no further than the aptly named cuddle blanket. “After just one sleep with this faux fur beauty, my partner and I both agreed we couldn’t wait to climb into bed again to be graced with the soothing weight of the cuddle blanket,” writes Madi Koetting in her best blanket review. “I tested the standard throw size but highly recommend springing for the oversized throw if you sleep with a blanket hog. The standard size is wonderful but doesn’t quite stretch across my queen mattress.”
This blanket is cool, cozy and machine washable. Just be warned that it can take a long time to dry.
This lightweight blanket is a 50/50 blend of bamboo viscose and cotton.
This blanket is made of ultra-soft faux fur and has a weighted sensation for extra comfort.
There’s nothing like getting out of the shower and wrapping yourself in a big, soft, fluffy towel. And you’d be hard pressed to find towels that are fluffier than Cozy Earth’s luxe bath sheets. I’ve been using these heavyweight towels for years now and they feel just as luxurious now as they did when they were brand new. I’m also a big fan of their super-soft ribbed terry bath towels.
Truth be told, you can’t go wrong with any Cozy Earth towel set. They’re all super luxurious and ultra-absorbent. Best of all, you can wash them over and over. After years of use by my large family (there are six of us), I’ve yet to come across a single frayed edge or tear in any of my towels. The only mishap occurred when my husband tossed in one of my white bath sheets with a deep red tablecloth. Said bath sheet is now pink, though neither of us can bring ourselves to get rid of it. It’s seriously that good.
These heavyweight towels are super plush and ultra-absorbent.
Cozy Earth is a splurge, but you get what you pay for. Everything they offer is luxurious, cozy and designed to stand the test of time. Better yet, Cozy Earth knows that its products are investment pieces. That’s why they allow you to sleep on your purchase—literally—for 100 nights. If you don’t love your bedding after 100 nights, you can return or exchange it. However, we’re confident you’ll love it just as much as we do.
Just keep in mind that non-bedding items, including loungewear, sleepwear, bath towels and accessories, have a 30-day return and exchange window.
